Welcome to the homepage of Autscape 2005, a fantastic new autistic self-advocacy project under rapid development. Please read on for more information and breaking news...
Autscape is a conference organised for and run by autistic people. The first event will be held in a peaceful rural retreat centre surrounded by extensive and picturesque grounds. Autscape is a conference that really turns the tables on the usual autism conferences. Its inception was inspired by Autreat, but it is a unique and independent European event. If you would like to be part of Autscape, please feel free to join us as a participant or presenter.

FUNDING!
Presenters
We have some fantastic news! We have received a very generous donation which will allow us to provide subsidised accommodation for presenters doing workshops and lectures. If you have been considering submitting a proposal, but delaying due to financial considerations, please submit your proposal ASAP. The deadline is still the end of March. If you can't get a full proposal put together by then, let us know in general terms what you would like to do and get the details to us as soon as you can. We need to make decisions about which proposals to accept.
Childcare
The funding will also allow us to provide supervised childcare for children 0 to 16 years, but places will be limited. If you require childcare, it is important that your register early to ensure we have a place for your child(ren).
Special Guests
Two more things we are now able to offer are excellent and experienced organisers and presenters, Heta Pukki (Finland) and Jim Sinclair (USA). Jim has been the primary force behind Autreat, our inspiration for Autscape, and a valued advisor to the Autscape Planning Committee. Both Jim and Heta have extensive experience which will be a great asset to our programme.
Autscape 2005 is going ahead
Autscape is back on!
Last autumn, we thought Autscape was not going to be able to go ahead, but this year we've had a change of fortune and inspiration. It may not be perfect, it may even be a little rough around the edges, but we are willing to give it our best. Please help make the first Autscape all it can be by joining us as a presenter, on-site helper, participant, or more than one of those.
If you would like to stay up to date on Autscape's development, you can subscribe to our mailing list by e-mail: autscape-subscribe@yahoogroups.com or going to the Yahoo! site: Autscape at Yahoo! Groups.
Call for Proposals
