How to get to the Venue
Autscape 2008 was held in Giggleswick school near Settle in the Yorkshire Dales.
By Road: The venue's website contained detailed directions on driving to the site.
By Train: Travel from Leeds station to Settle station or Lancaster station to Giggleswick station. Both stations are about five minutes drive from the venue. However only Settle has a taxi rank. British trains can be unreliable and are often late. Try not to become too distressed about inconsistencies or deviations from the published timetables.
Make sure you leave early enough for a few things to go wrong along the way. Carry contact information for yourself, an emergency person, and Autscape with you. If you are changing trains at Leeds station, allow extra time as it is a large and noisy station.
We expect to have a transport co-ordinator at Settle station to group people into shared taxis. The taxi fare is around three to four pounds. You do not have to share you taxi, it is okay if you prefer to ride alone.
By Air: The nearest international airports are Manchester and Leeds Bradford. Both are about one hours drive from the venue. Leeds Bradford has a shuttle bus connection with Leeds station while Manchester Airport has direct train connections to both Lancaster and Leeds.
